What Donemark West is about:

Our aim:
Located on the outskirts of Bantry (c.2km from the town centre) and nestled on the banks of the Mealagh river stands Bantry’s newest dining experience.
From lunch time snacks to full evening meals, Donemark West may be small in size but large in quality food experience. Christian Barcoe, the owner and chef describes their food as using ‘Merchants of West Cork Fayre’. Not only do they use the best of local fine quality resources, you’ll be pleasantly surprised what can be done with the best that West Cork can offer.
They have recently updated their website (www.donemarkwest.com) and this gives an insight as to what they offer the diner. Prices start @€5 for a lunch time snack and you have a range of options for the evening diner with the full a la carte menu. The menus give a wide range of choice for even the most discerning of diners while they also cater for those with special dietary requirements.
The service is warm and friendly. While the restaurant can host up to c.30 people, there is a homely atmosphere evident throughout the restaurant.
The lunch time choices range from local sea food chowder, piri piri warm chicken salad to their famous fish fingers The evening options cater for all tastes. Favourites are the locally sourced rack of lamb, wild turbot and West Cork dry aged fillet steak Just hope that the crème brulée is available for dessert as you won’t be disappointed!
A key goal is to use the finest produce that can be sourced as best as possible with minimum processing. 'Clean, sharp, uncomplicated, wholesome and quality food' are attributes that they live by.
Hidden surprises include the availability of a choice of Leonida’s chocolates that can be gift wrapped for a special occasion. You also have a wide selection of wines, ports and champagne available for take-out.
